At ATA Black belt Academy, we offer self defense in all our classes as part of our regular curriculum. Special 1 time classes are offered throughout the year as clinics. Ask us when our next clinic is? Tiny Tigers and Karate for Kids start out with basic self defense moves that will work well with bully's and focuses on getting away as fast as possible. "Get back, Leave me alone, I'm safe"! As the students get older, they learn more advanced self-defense techniques including pressure points but still focus on protecting yourself from the attack, then defending the attack, then getting yourself to a safe location so the attacker can not come at you again. Students also learn the sparring techniques. They wear full protection gear and are taught control of their actions and placement of kicks and punches. Ms. Buckingham is certified to teach SHARP (Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention). This class can be scheduled for any group interested in learning these techniques. Check out our class schedule
